The Cons are over
For all who were not there, here is a (german) report and some pictures of the DUSmania.

The visitors had quite great interest in Hurrican, enough that Poke53280 want to finish it as fast as possible (~end 02).
So much people played it, that Eiswuxe had to desinfect his keyboard ;)
And there was an old lady (Eiswuxe: at least 70 years) who asked him if thereīll be a rope like in Turrican 3. Cool. Does anybody know her ?)

Since Synthetic Developmentīs pixel-artist Albolone foundet his own company, he has only little time left. So, there still is not much to see of the Turricane 4 Ever-project.
So if yourīre good at oldscool pixel-gfx and want to to earn eternal glory, contact Torsten "Wizard" Giebl if you want to join the team!
But at least something good: in the next week they want to present shots of the new level-editor and some title-music-previews.

Somethin BIG is coming! I just had a little (2 hours) look at Pokeīs exclusive 2 Level-Hurrican-Preview (argh, my arm hurts;):
Looks good, sounds good and plays very good. Of yourse itīll also need some fine-tuning, but it already has a lot of Turrican Feeling.
In movement it looks even better then on the Screenshots: there are a lot of effects to see (Lights, Screen shakes...) and hear (dynamic background-noises). And the enemies are full of surprises !

Pekaro have released a one-level Demo of their Turrican Remake !
Plays, looks and sounds brilliant, and features a complete remake of Turrican 2 Level 1 (later there will be new maps!). Only the controls may need some fine-tuning - but go and judge yourself !

Some new screenshots at Poke53280īs Hurrican.
Found another project based on Turrican named "Windstille", which should be finished 2006. There already is some source-code and some sketches to see.
The Vote, which sprites Pekarosoft should prefer, is finished with the following results:

Added C64, SNES and Atari-Turrican Soundtracks, uploaded new Amiga-Turrican-Sets (now including the loader;) at the bonusfiles.
Tip: for C64 (Sid,SidAmp), snes (SPC, SPC-Player)and Atari (YM, STSound) there are plugins for Winamp, for the Amiga-Soundtracks best use Deliplayer - it sounds better.

All Turrican-Remake-projects are making nice progress, you now can see the Turrican-sprite and some preview-screenshots or at least concept-art.
Only the details on GameGear Turrican remain a secret until now.
Interesting is that all projects approach differently, so here a little overview:
T2002 - pekaro software team - Turrican 2 PC-Gfx, Turrican 2 Amiga Sprite. Sadly they seem to use the T2-PC-enemy sprites which are a little boring, but the landscape looks great.
TurricanE Project - synthetic development complete new graphics, not much to see until now, but they work the most professionally - and with the biggest team.
Hurrican - Poke53280 - also complete new gfx, very colourful. Reminds me much of Turrican 2.

Unbelievable but true, thereīs an update at the Turrican Forever Fanpage (...but I expected a bit more ;).
Regarding to the news posted there, another Turrican Project is out there: GG Turrican - Turrican for Gamegear, by Martin Konrad I guess.
But altough it already should be playable regarding to Robert Konrad, there is not much to see at this page now.
About the Rumour of Manfred Trenz making a new Turrican: letīs see, if Ram-Brand of the Manfred Trenz Fansite finds out if itīs true. He thinks it is quite possible, but it wonīt be for GBC/GBA.

I asked the pekaro software team for some detaills about their T2002 Turrican Clone.
Like I guessed, they will use the Turrican 2 PC-level-gfx, with sprites out of several other Turrican episodes.
They will probably use the Turrican 2 weapons plus the grenade out of Turrican 1 (which is a good idea, I think) and maybe even the jetpack.
There will be new levels, but expect a Turrican 2 Level 1 rebuild as a preview in summer.
The game should be released in (late?) 2002.
At the TurricanE Project you can have a look at the first scribbles and a preview of the TurricanE Sprite.

I just got a mail from famous Eiswuxe of Poke53280, well known for their Katakis-Clone "Takatis".
They started a Turrican-inspired game, you can even see some screenshots at their homepage !
At the Moment, me and another Teammember are working on a Turrican-inspired game named "Hurrican".

There you can download the full an free version of Takatis and have a look at the Screenshots of Hurrican,
as well as on our other project running named "Giana Madness", which will be a 3D-Multiplayer
Giana-Sisters-Deathmatch game.

Some News about Turricane forever:
For the ones who havenīt read it yet, Turricane4ever will not be a Turrican 3 Clone, it will be a brand new Turrican(e).
The Project leaders had a little meeting with Peter Thierolf , the Programmierer of Apidya, Mr.Nutz, Turrican 3/Mega Turrican etc... in his hometown near Frankfurt. They got a lot of useful informations, material and a promise for support. And he offered to design a whole level !

Unbelievable: Check out http://mitglied.lycos.de/pekarosoft/ for Project T2002 for another Turrican conversion. They seem to use the Turrican 2 PC-Graphics, but with the original Turrican-Sprite.
Not a bad Idea ;)

News from the T4-Project:
As a proof, that it is no Lamerproject, theīve released a Leveleditor.
It is not the final Version but fully usable. All important keys are in "keys.txt", mail bugs, problems and levels to turricanfour@users.sf.net.
They are in urgent need for an original-rebuild of Level 1-1 / Mega Turrican.
So, if you love Turrican: go for it ;)
